PhilHealth intensifies Konsulta info drive in BARMM

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)—The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in Bangsamoro region has intensified its awareness campaign on Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) package.

The state-run health insurer conducted a virtual 'Kapihan with Media' to tap the help of media practitioners and information officers across the region in the dissemination of the benefits and services offered under the Konsulta healthcare package.

“This is part of our continuing efforts to strengthen and expand the message of PhilHealth to reach our members and stakeholders. We believe that this kind of activity provides the opportunity for a healthy and productive exchange of information and insights that will eventually and essentially improve our services to the Bangsamoro people,” said PhilHealth BARMM Regional Vice President Datu Masiding Alonto Jr.

Alonto said the Kapihan primarily aims to give information and updates on the Konsulta package, a PhilHealth primary benefit package in compliance with the Universal Health Care Law.

Konsulta offers comprehensive outpatient health services such as medical consultations, health screening and assessment, and access to selected diagnostic services and medicines.

The package specifically covers 13 laboratory and diagnostics examinations namely complete blood count with platelet count, urinalysis, fecalysis, sputum microscopy, fecal occult blood, pap smear, HbA1c, lipid profile, fasting blood sugar, oral glucose tolerance test, creatinine, electrocardiogram, and chest x-ray.

The medicines that can be availed of are anti-microbial, fluid and electrolytes, anti-asthma, anti-pyretics, anti-diabetic, anti-dyslipidemia, anti-hypertensives, anti-thrombotics, and anti-histamine.

Aside from the Konsulta, the Kapihan also tackled updates on PhilHealth’s Covid-19 home isolation benefit package and PhilHealth's anti-fraud campaign. (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
