MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)—The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) urged health care providers in the Bangsamoro region to apply for accreditation to be able to provide Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (KonSulTa) Package benefits to PhilHealth members.

The KonSulTa is a primary care package expanded to provide comprehensive outpatient benefits as mandated by the Universal Health Care Law.

As an accredited facility, the provider is expected to give primary care services such as consultation and health screening and assessment.

Laboratory services and imaging tests such as complete blood count with platelet count, urinalysis, fecalysis, sputum microscopy, fecal occult blood, pap smear, HbA1c, lipid profile, fasting blood sugar, oral glucose tolerance test, creatinine, electrocardiogram, and chest x-ray must also be available, as well as anti-microbial, fluid and electrolytes, anti-asthma, anti-pyretics, anti-diabetic, anti-dyslipidemia, anti-hypertensives, anti-thrombotics and anti-histamine medicines.

For a healthcare facility to be accredited as KonSulTa provider, it must conduct a self-assessment to determine compliance with the set of standards for the package.

Dr. Ruby Minalang, PhilHealth-BARMM Accreditation Quality Assurance Section head, said at least 30 health facilities in the region are now accredited with KonSulTa. (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
