MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--The Philippine Army has sought the support of local chief executives in Lanao del Sur province to help in the fight against the communist terrorist group (CTG).
During the 1st quarter meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Col. Ted Dumosmog of 403rd Infantry Brigade solicited the help of the provincial governor and municipal mayors in explaining to their constituents that there is now a CTG threat in the province.
"We would like to seek the help of the Maranaw communities, from the provincial governor down to municipal mayors, kindly explain to the Meranaw people na yung mga NPA pumapasok na din sa area ng Lanao del Sur. Kindly explain to the youth na huwag silang magpadala sa communist terrorist group ideology. Kindly tell your constituents na huwag magpadala sa kalokohan nitong mga CTG," he said.
According to him, because of the massive focused military operation conducted by the 4th Infantry Division, some CTG members are seeking refuge in some parts of Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, and Lanao del Sur.
This, he said, was the reason why the 403rd Brigade has assumed some jurisdictional operational control in seven municipalities of Lanao del Sur namely Kapai, Tagoloan II, Bubong, Maguing, Wao, Amai Manabilang, and Lumba Bayabao.
Dumosmog clarified that they are only after the CTG while the 103rd Infantry Brigade which is based in Kampo Ranao, this city, is in charge of the local terrorist groups or the Dawla-inspired groups.
"Magtulungan tayo para itong Lanao del Sur ay hindi mapasukan ng mga NPA dahil lalong macomplicate, may ISIS group na, may NPA pa…," he further said. (APB/PIA Lanao del Sur)
