MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur-- ”These routes are beacons of renewed resilience, connection, and hope. These routes will reap stories of development, triumph, and harmony as we move towards development as one Mindanao, better and stronger than ever,” said Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chairperson Secretary Maria Belen Sunga-Acosta as she expressed how she sees the newly-launched inter-regional routes touching the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) dubbed as friendship routes Wednesday, February 23.

Acosta expounded that infrastructures, such as road networks, are critical components of any development as these are strong determinants of the physical progress of a country.

She stressed that it is just appropriate to have more routes, specifically in Mindanao considering that people trade and visit each other.

Additionally, these will also facilitate the displaced people’s return to Marawi City, and attract more investors and tourists which expectedly will boost the economic and commercial activities between and among the regions on the island.

With this completed effort, Acosta hoped that these friendship routes will be seen in a different but more meaningful development perspective as this is a product of their mandate and mission, thus, a pride for every involved public servant and even the people of Mindanao.

“These routes are just not typical infrastructure development. These are symbols of cooperation, hard work, commitment, sincerity of the national, Bangsamoro and local government, and critical private stakeholders,” she said.

Now, the MinDa chief expressed optimism that there will be good communication, collaboration, and cooperation between their office, various local government units, and other national agencies to showcase more BARMM, especially the city here. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
