MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur --The administration of road movement as well as the economic matters here will now be aided and aptly addressed with the complete establishment and the inauguration Thursday, March 3, of a new traffic management center situated at the heart of the most affected area (MAA) in the city.
Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) Chairperson Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario emphasized that this bears great significance, especially in terms of their vision of causing positive change in the central business district of the city in the near future.
He conveyed that the pursuit for the realization of this goal means plenty of economic activities, vehicular movement, and people and tourists both local and foreign who may wish to see the beauty of the city, and this is where the built infrastructure will take its role.
Del Rosario further stated that this will not only serve the traffic needs of the place but also become a facility which will help in getting on-time information in complementary to the plan of constructing additional five substations in identified strategic areas intending to receive and deliver timely data that will guide the decision-makers in making the right decisions whenever any situation develops.
The internet connectivity and the powering-up of the whole city will likewise be implemented through this recently constructed project.
“We really need to have a traffic management center. This will signal the start of linkaging and connectivity of all the facilities in the entire most affected area,” said Del Rosario.
The National Housing Authority (NHA), being the implementing agency, constructed the traffic management center with funds from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management - Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
