TFBM to roll out more infra projects in May

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--The government through the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) is rolling out big infrastructure projects this May in time for the Marawi Week of Peace celebration.

"This coming May we will celebrate the Marawi Week of Peace and we will have the ribbon cutting of some vital infrastructure projects in front of Lanao Lake. We are going to deliver to the people of Marawi the completion of the Peace Memorial, Rizal Park, the Marawi Museum, and the School of Living Tradition," said TFBM chairperson Sec. Eduardo Del Rosario during his visit to the city Thursday, March 3.

He said the completion of the convention center and sports complex is also scheduled for the same week while the city government is likewise planning to include the Grand Padian Market in the ribbon cutting of projects in the ground zero.

The road networks complete with solar lights, traffic lights with adequate canal systems that will lead to sewage treatment plant will be completed a month ahead of the Week of Peace.

According to him,  the beauty of the city will be highlighted when major projects at the heart of ground zero will all be completed.

This, he said, is in accordance with one of the objectives of rehabilitation which is to serve as a catalyst for growth and development. "Without these infrastructures, there will be no trigger for growth," he added.

During his visit, Del Rosario joined the awarding of 250 permanent shelters to identified displaced families and led the inauguration of several infrastructure projects inside the most affected area completed by various implementing agencies. These include the Traffic Management Center, a four-story school building, barangay complexes in Wawalayan Marinaut and Kapantaran, and Macaorao Mosque.

"By June 30, I admit that we will not be able to complete 100% rehabilitation accomplishment but I am certain it will be between 90-95%," the TFBM chief said as he emphasized that the rehabilitation remains on track and all remaining projects will be completed by December this year.  (APB/PIA ICIC)
