MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The local government of Marawi continues to deliver services that would promote heart and oral health amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
On Monday, February 21, the Marawi City Health Office provided free taking of body mass index, blood pressure, random blood sugar, and hemoglobin A1c test. It also conducted dental extraction for fully-vaccinated individuals with a negative antigen test result and distributed dental kits to children.
Advocacy campaign on spreading awareness about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and the importance of good oral hygiene habits likewise kicked off.
"We, in the local government of Marawi City, are striving hard to juggle Covid-19 interventions with other health frontline services so that we can collectively achieve a more developed and healthier Marawi for everyone," said city mayor Majul Gandamra.
He said the city government is also giving more attention to health services aside from the infrastructure development as he considers the good health of his constituents as the wealth of the city.
While the city government is strengthening its provision of basic health services through the City Health Office, Gandamra likewise called on Marawi residents to also take good care of their health by eating healthy and consulting health experts when they are not feeling well.
