MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--Child-focused humanitarian agency World Vision turned over Monday, February 7, medical equipment to the Marawi City Health Office (CHO) to help augment the health facilities of geographically-isolated and disadvantaged barangays of the city.
The medical support consisted of five examination hospital beds, five weighing scales for infants, and five Detecto weighing scales. World Vision also provided 500 Blood Uric Acid strips and 500 blood glucose strips. This comprises the second set of medical equipment the organization handed over to CHO.
Cecile Cenas, project coordinator of World Vision in Marawi, said the equipment turned over is part of their Urban Child Protection Project geared at improving the health outcomes of residents in the five partner barangays of the humanitarian organization. These are Cadayonan 1 and 2, Tuca-Ambolong, Rapasun, and Malimono.
"Isa sa mga pinopromote namin sa World Vision ay mas mapangalagaan ang kalusugan ng ating constituents sa ating mga barangay lalong-lalo na ang mga bata sa komunidad," Cenas said.
[One of the things we are promoting in World Vision is to better protect the health of our constituents in our barangays, especially the children in the community.]
City Health Officer Dr. Ali Dalidig accepted the medical equipment and conveyed his gratitude to World Vision for helping them bring health services to far-flung barangays of the city.
"Tayo po ay nagpapasalamat sa ating partner na World Vision. Since the beginning of the Marawi rehabilitation at reconstruction ay naging partner natin sila sa iba't-ibang program hindi lang sa aspect of health," he said.
[We are grateful to our partner World Vision. Since the beginning of the Marawi rehabilitation and reconstruction, they have been our partner in various programs not only in the aspect of health.]
Meanwhile, Cenas urged the recipients of the equipment to take care of such. "Sana ay alagaan niyo ang equipment na ibinigay namin sa inyo kasi isa ito sa palatandaan na mayroon tayong magandang relasyon para sa pagpapabuti sa ating mga mamamayan sa ating mga respective barangays. Kami ay nagpapasalamat din sa pagtanggap ninyo sa amin bilang partner sa project na ito," she further said.
[I hope you will take care of the equipment we provided because it is one of the symbols that we have a good relationship in working for the betterment of people in our respective barangays. We are also grateful for your acceptance of us as a partner in this project.]
Dalidig also told the recipients to take care of the equipment saying village residents will greatly benefit from the medical support. (APB/PIA Lanao del Sur)
