Marawi teachers hailed for unceasing service amid COVID era

Marawi City Mayor Majul Gandamra lauds the teachers in the city who accordingly have still advanced knowledge and wisdom among learners despite the COVID-19 pandemic. (PIA-Lanao del Sur)


MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur--Teachers in the city have been commended for their unceasing support amidst the persisting coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 pandemic. 
 
Mayor Majul Gandamra stressed that the health crisis today has drastically impacted various aspects, among which is the education sector as teachers struggle in utilizing the most possible learning modalities like online, radio, and modular approaches and even the combination of the three to deliver quality education to learners. 
 
He said that despite the circumstance, the learning continuity was never halted with the banner of knowledge and wisdom further advanced.
 
As such, Gandamra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all teachers who still provide knowledge and skills that the learners ought to have although in difficult situations.
 
“The world today may be full of uncertainties and difficulties but one thing is for sure. Our noble educators will continue forward ‘edukalidad’ to our learners be it under a papaya tree, classroom, or online platform. I am very proud of you,” he said.
 
Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President Camid Gandamra Jr. likewise extended praise to teachers who are seen to be modern heroes for their unceasing service for the learners in the city.
 
To magnify this recognition, he affirmed the vision and mission of the Department of Education, particularly in the reopening of the limited face-to-face classes, which he called for sustained support from his fellow barangay chief executives. 
 
“I would like to appeal to my colleagues in the 96 barangays na suportahan natin ang edukasyon, ang mga kawani ng DepEd na nagpapatuloy sa kanilang mga pagsusumikap at pagpupursige, na walang pagod at sawang tumutulong sa ating mga kabataang mag-aaral,” he said.
