MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Residents of Marawi are reminded not to become complacent amid the decreasing number of active Covid-19 cases in the city.

During the launching of Resbakuna Kids on Monday, February 21,  City Mayor Majul Gandamra called on Marawians not to let their guards down and still get inoculated citing the vaccine as the best defense against the dreaded disease.

"With the decline in the Covid-19 cases, alam natin kung ano ang naging panlaban natin. Because of the vaccination program of the national government in coordination with the local government ay nakita natin yung pagbaba ng mga cases," he said.

[With the decline in the Covid-19 cases, we know what our defense was. Because of the vaccination program of the national government in coordination with the local government, we have seen a decrease in cases.]

City Health Office Dr. Ali Dalidig shared the same reminder saying that the people of Marawi should not relax despite the current single-digit active case.

Only six Covid-19 cases are being monitored now by the City Health Office while the city's Amai Pakpak Medical Center has only eight admitted cases as of February 20.

"Hindi tayo magrerelax, lahat tayo ay magpabakuna kasi sa ngayon ay hindi pa natin naabot ang 70% na gusto nating bakunahan [we will not relax, let us all get vaccinated because so far we have not reached the 70% that we want to be vaccinated]," he added. (APB/PIA Lanao del Sur)
