Marawi BLGUs vow aid for resumption of in-person classes

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur-As two elementary schools here have opened their doors once again for physical classes, barangay local government units in the city respectively pledged support to the City Schools Division of Marawi (CSDM) in any means possible for the easement of the resumption of the face-to-face learning modality. 
 
“Kami sa barangay ay handang tumulong and we are all committed na tulungan ang aming mga katuwang sa local government at sa Department of Education (DepEd)… Sa hanay namin, makakaasa kayo na kami ay 100% na tutulong sa kanilang lahat,” said Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) President Camid Gandamra Jr. during the MCSD’s Barangay Education Summit Wednesday, February 23. 
 
[We, in the barangay, are ready to help and we are committed to help our allies in the local government and the Department of Education (DepEd)… In our lane, you are assured that we will give our 100% support to all of them.]
 
Gandamra earlier stated that the BLGUs act as a major factor in pursuing education especially now in the time of the pandemic. 
 
As part of their aid, they accordingly frontline in the crowd control to ensure strict adherence to minimum health standard protocols, traffic management to avoid congestion in significant road networks, and augmentation of manpower as they help man the in and out of the school vicinity.  
 
Brgy. Lumbac Marinaut Chairperson Wahab Dia likewise guaranteed that they lead in the information dissemination to encourage their constituents to cooperate with the government’s conditions in welcoming back face-to-face classes.
 
“Nagbibigay kami ng kaalaman nang sa ganoon ay magawa nila ang mabuting pamamaraan sa kinakaharap nating problema ngayon… Ang barangay ang siyang paraan na ang community ay makikinig sa siyang namamahala,” he said.
 
[We give knowledge so that they can do the appropriate actions for this currently encountered problem… The barangay is a means as the community listens to the one administering it.]
 
With the full support of the BLGUs and the successful prior simulation of the limited face-to-face classes in priority schools, the ABC president conveyed his optimism that there will be a future expansion of the in-person learning modality to physically send more learners to schools.
 
Currently, two schools that conducted limited in-person classes since February 21 are Mapandi and Nanapun Elementary Schools. Such operation will last for one month and is subject to evaluation and assessment for further decision to cover additional academic institutions both public and private. (CRG/PIA-Lanao del Sur)
