CFSI head inspires Piagapo town to build more infra

Community and Family Services International (CFSI) Executive Director Dr. Steven Muncy encourages Piagapo town in Lanao del Sur province to make their place more progressive by constructing additional infrastructures. PIAGAPO, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Community and Family Services International (CFSI) keeps on motivating the municipality of Piagapo to make more progress by constructing additional infrastructures in its area.

Dr. Steven Muncy, the executive director of the non-government organization, believed that residents here alongside their municipal government can make their place more upgraded, especially since they have been stepping up as years passed by.

He highlighted that as they have been implementing projects to help the town, its people are seen striving to be unified and alleviate their present lives.

“You can, you are and you will change these barangays in this municipality. Why not have a gym, more tire paths that are connected all the way, paved roads, multi-purpose centers, more livelihood and births registered? You can do it and we are so grateful to have helped you in this very small way but you can do it,” said Muncy.

Earlier, the CFSI executive director shared that as someone based in the capital city, he has been hearing that the town is dangerous but upon witnessing personally the place in its current state, he underlined that there was no danger, rather, what is clear is the determination of the people considering that the place has already changed.

He recalled that a decade ago, coming to the distant villages of the municipality would require walking or going by horse or tractors with a chain on it but now, he stated that they already have tire paths and paved roads.

Muncy further bared that the town was once labeled a poor locality but he emphasized that he saw a progressive place because what has been shown was townsmen were able to work together, achieve common objectives for the benefit of all, and won so many awards for their excellent service and advancement in gender and development.

He also mentioned that before, the town was called isolated but he refuted that this is not an isolated place, but rather, an inspiring one because when the siege in Marawi happened, the municipality opened up their communities and homes to provide safety and refuge and help people when they needed it.

Muncy underscored that upon magnifying the municipality as determined, progressive and inspiring, he also meant that these all are the fruits of transformative leadership and collaboration with everybody working together towards a common cause.

He expressed that they are so grateful to be allowed to be part of their community.

“We have made our efforts. They are small compared to your efforts. We hope that they have made a difference but it is because of your work and sense of community that these small interventions from CFSI have had a kind of impact,” said Muncy. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
