PIAGAPO, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The community-based support to livelihood (CBSL) projects of the Community and Family Services International (CFSI) bring benefits as they aid in lightening the day-to-day lives of the residents, local executives of the town here affirmed.
This, after the non-government organization (NGO) inaugurated altogether four of its completed projects here. This are the 199-linear meter tire path for Brgy. Bansayan, 30x36-foot community multi-purpose center for Brgy. Basak, 245-linear meter tire path for Brgy. Kalungunan, and 243-linear meter tire path for Brgy. Tapocan.
Tapucan Barangay Chairman Mansawi Guiling extended his gratefulness to the CFSI for helping them have a tire path.
He remembered that before having the project, they struggled in terms of transportation which consequently made it difficult to deliver their products from the hillside of their barangay.
“Ngayon, makakadaan na ang mga sasakyan kasi nabigyan kami ng [daan] ng CFSI. Doon na dadaan ang mga produkto. Masaya ang mga tao dito. Maraming salamat talaga sa kanila,” said Mansawi.
[Now, our vehicles can already pass by because we were given [a road] from the CFSI. our products will travel there. The people here are happy. Thank you so much to them.]
Town Mayor Ali Sumandar expressed his happiness noting that they are one of the priorities of the CFSI.
He stressed that not all municipalities are given the same opportunity which is why he also kept on reminding his constituents to take care of anything that has been offered to them.
Sumandar further stated that as his town is a fourth-class municipality, they cannot really provide all necessities of his townsmen, thus, his joy to receive support from other stakeholders and partners.
He hoped that the CFSI would not get tired of helping fourth-class municipalities like his town.
“We are very much happy na mayroong mga NGO na tumutulong sa mga less fortunate na mga municipality… Hoping na bukod sa ipagpatuloy nila ang suporta nila sa amin, bigyan pa kami ng maraming mga proyekto na kailangan ng aming constituents,” said Sumandar.
[We are very much happy that NGOs are helping the less fortunate municipalities… Hoping that aside from their continuous support to us here, they would still give us more projects which our constituents need.]
Meanwhile, Piagapo Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Sarifa Dalan conveyed her heartfelt thanks to the CFSI.
She was likewise optimistic that additional efforts would be pushed for their place as they need more help from the organization. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
