MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Pursuant to the mandate bestowed upon local government units to reorganize special bodies following a local election, an executive order was issued to formally organize anew the structure and members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) of the province of Lanao del Sur. \
The reorganization accordingly updated the members of the council as it replaced those who no longer represent appropriate agencies or offices.
Through this, the PPOC shall be chaired by Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong Jr. with Vice Governor and Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Peace and Order Chairperson Mohammad Khalid Adiong as the Vice Chairman.
Other members included security sectors, local chief executives of Marawi and 39 other municipalities of Lanao del Sur, board members of the 1st and 2nd district of the province, civil society organizations, and some national government agencies.
Through PPOC, dedicated efforts of the members shall be concerted as these are deemed required to conclude threats to peace and order posed by criminality, insurgency, and subversion.
This shall likewise enforce laws on security and administer justice to effectively prevent and suppress criminality, and maintain public order and safety in the province. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
