MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The Provincial Peace and Order Council renewed the call to members of local terrorist groups (LTGs) to return to the fold of the law.
103rd Infantry Brigade Deputy Commander Col. Billy Dela Rosa said the army is eager to welcome and help those active LTG members who want to go back to mainstream society.
"I am encouraging members of the DI-Maute group to return to the folds of the law. This is the time, we now have a program for you," he said referring to the expanded Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
ECLIP is a government program that aims to help members of communist terrorist groups restore their allegiance to the Philippine government and start over with their new and normal lives with their families. The program was recently expanded to include former violent extremists as beneficiaries.
The guidelines of the program were presented to the PPOC during its 3rd quarter meeting Tuesday, September 6, to beef up its implementation in the municipalities.
“Alam ng gobyerno ang paninindigan niyo but nakita namin how important it is for us to unite lalo na may BARMM tayo. Tayo ay nananawagan sa mga sumusuway pa na pumasok na dito sa ating mga programa dahil mas makikinabang lahat tayo dito as united Muslims for Bangsamoro,” said Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) - Lanao del Sur Provincial Director Mcmillan Lucman.

Dela Rosa supported Lucman underlining that progress in Lanao del Sur could not be obtained without first addressing security concerns.
"This is time for us here in Lanao del Sur to progress..and to do this, we need our brothers who are still in the mountains to return to the folds of the law,' he reiterated. (APB.PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
