DepEd Marawi, LANDBANK open new ATM in APCES

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--City Schools Division of Marawi (CSDM) and Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) officially inaugurated Wednesday, August 31, a newly-installed Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to make offsite banking more convenient for teachers and other CSDM personnel.

The new LANDBANK ATM is beside the entrance of Amai Pakpak Central Elementary School where the office of the CSDM is located.

City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Anna Zenaida Unte Alonto said the LANDBANK ATM project is the first of its kind in Lanao del Sur, particularly for all the three school divisions in the province.

She said the ATM project is part of her six-point long-term agenda to provide convenience to teachers and other CSDM personnel when withdrawing money, noting that sometimes they go all the way to Iligan and Cagayan de Oro just to withdraw their salaries.

"This is part of my 6-point long-term agenda. The totality of the welfare of the teachers and learners of Marawi City is my utmost concern, that is why gross organizational happiness is part of my 6-point agenda," she said.

The Superintendent thanked LANDBANK Marawi Branch for helping her realize the project and the different school heads who donated P10,000 each for the construction of the ATM.

"This is the legacy that we will be sharing with all the people in the province of Lanao del Sur and Marawi City who shall be using this ATM," she added

The CSDM workforce lauded the initiative of the Superintendent saying they will have the convenience of cash transactions right on campus to ensure easy access to their funds and safety.APCES Principal Pinamili Abedin stressed that she was thankful for having a LANDBANK ATM beside the entrance of her school citing that long queues at the LANDBANK onsite ATM during payday would no longer be an excuse for teachers to be late.

Soraida Noor, a consultant of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education of the Bangsamoro region, also praised the City Schools Division of Marawi for their ATM project. She said it is a very laudable project as it will minimize the queuing of teachers at the LANDBANK Marawi City Branch Office.  (APB/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
