MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--In time of celebrating the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PSCA) this month of September, the local government of the Islamic City of Marawi acclaimed all government employees who are treated as servant-heroes.
City Councilor Dr. Princess “Pala” Gandamra stressed that this commemoration is not only an avenue where the public servants from the various local government units and government agencies gather just for the sake of celebrating as it also serves as a tribute to all the hardworking public servants who sacrificed their lives in a daily basis just to ensure that the mandate of the government to its people are effectively delivered.
“This is the time that we highlight all our successes no matter how big or small they may be. They are all worth acknowledging especially when they are done with integrity and a sense of responsibility to serve our fellowmen,” she said during the kick-off ceremony of the celebration Thursday, September 8.
Gandamra underlined that public servants are the very backbone of society considering all transactions are processed by government agencies.
As such, she stated that it is only fitting to equip them with the right knowledge and skills, as well as provide them the opportunities to be future-ready to ensure that the greater public is served more efficiently.
Gandamra believed that in return, this will help in uplifting the lives of the Filipino citizenry and display the Philippines to the global community as a well-developed and constantly progressing nation.
Just as she saluted the public servants, the city councilor likewise motivated them to continue the excellent service that has been started and which is deemed beneficial to their countrymen.
She conveyed that although there would be times when serving others would be a struggle and tiresome, they should not remain weakened as they should be able to contemplate that each one of them significantly affects the country.
“Ang selebrasyon ng anibersaryong ito ay isang hudyat upang pagbutihin pa natin ang ating paseserbisyo… Nawa’y sa araw-araw ninyong paninilbihan ay isapuso at isaisip ninyo ang inyong sinumpaang serbisyo at nang sa ganoon ay sabay-sabay nating matunghayan ang tunay na pagbangon ng isang bansa,” said Gandamra.
