MILG-Lanao Sur affirms collaboration key to achieve peace, dev’t

MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--Seeing the good fruits it may bear in the nearest future, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) firmly maintained its stand that collaboration among all citizens of any sector composing the community is highly necessary for the attainment of peace and development in Lanao del Sur province.

On Monday, September 26, the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) launched the revitalized Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan (KASIMBAYANAN) underscoring the need for the intervention of the religious sector and the whole society for effective safety and protection for each individual.

With the initiative nurturing the value he similarly promoted, MILG Lanao del Sur Provincial Director Mcmillan Lucman stressed that this symbolizes the awareness that the engaged sectors alongside the Philippine National Police (PNP) strongly serve as a vital force in contributing to peace and order, stability and progress of the community.

“This is a noble and worthy undertaking that is in full consonance with the practice of ensuring a vibrant democracy where there is respect for the rule of law,” he said.

Lucman underlined that while the law enforcement sector heightens its move against illegal drugs and other forms of criminality in the province, there is a critical need to institutionalize collaborative efforts with the public to uphold integrity and transparency in the conduct of police operation and administration, and in the unwavering commitment of pushing for human rights while targeting for inclusive change, and prosperous and peaceful life for all.

Earlier, he conveyed his positivity that the religious sector, with its moral ascendancy and influence over all sectors of society, can face and accept the challenge of guiding the people to perform exemplarily their duties within the boundary of moral fiber and integrity.

“With the Bangsamoro region noted to be guided by the Islamic tenets, it is only necessary to put a premium on moral governance as this navigates the transition period,” said Lucman. (CRG/PIA-10/Lanao del Sur)
